Celebrate Your Mornings with a Glam Kitchen Nook
/Mornings represent so much – the start of the day, new beginnings, or even a clean slate. Many of us start our day from the same area of our home – the kitchen nook. In fact, more families may eat breakfast together vs. eat dinner together, thanks to this little area. Often times the kitchen nook is part office, part homework station, part breakfast table, part pet food station, part everything. Because of this it can be easy to watch this area look like a tornado came through, and the opportunity to create an organized space is lost.
A home design may include a built-in desk, so bills begin to pile high along with unopened mail. While the functional use of a desk makes sense, it quickly becomes junk central instead of a beautiful design.
I too have been guilty of this. Prior to our latest home for about 9 months, we stored two large screen TVs in my kitchen nook – it just became the easiest location. Maybe you’re seeing yourself in this situation too. Each corner has become another opportunity to hold files, bins, toys – all tucked away, and you think it’s organized.
Instead, completely clear out those corners and only focus the room on design and décor. Really make it a clean space, moving those items that don’t belong to true storage locations or closets in appropriate storage containers. I’m so beyond grateful for Dr Stacia Pierce initially designing, then redesigning my kitchen nook. As you can see the original and new style are completely different and the new style created a great flow to the rest of my home.
